Mario Duarte's debut book full of wonderful micropoetry!
Mario Duarte is a Mexican-American writer of poetry and short stories. He grew up in Western Illinois, and his family has lived in the Midwest for over a hundred years. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and the University of New Hampshire. He works as an academic advisor for the University of Iowa. His poems and short stories have appeared in American Poetry Review, 2River Review, Abstract Elephant, American Writers Review, Bilingual/Borderless, Digging Through the Fat… among many others. In April of 2024, his short story collection, “Monkeys: Stories of Growing Up Mexican American in the Heartland”, will be published by the Ice Cube Press. “To the Death of the Author” is his first book, and first partnership with La Resistencia Press.
